Over the past few months, my family’s car and sole means of transportation has suffered from a leak, a broken power steering belt, two rounds of battery issues, two blown tires, a faulty steering ball and joint, and an electrical issue which caused the engine to die more and more frequently (even when driving down the road). With the latest surge of problems (broken belt, leak, a temperamental new battery) and a month in the repair shop with it dying again within two hours of us getting it back - twice - my family has decided that it’s time to cut our losses and buy a used car in better (running) condition.
While we are already searching for a replacement vehicle, my family is more or less perpetually extremely short on funds; my mother has several health issues, my father’s hours were cut, and my brother is unemployed while I’m taking online summer classes. So I am turning to the internet to ask for help.
My mother’s Paypal address is email@example.com; any donations gathered there will be put towards the purchase of a used car in better shape than our current one. We’re optimistically estimating the cost of this car to be about $2,500 USD, but of course with cars this is all very much up in the air, especially if you’re looking for a decent one. Please rest assured that any additional funds – funds exceeding the bare-minimum cost of a decent replacement vehicle – will be used to a) buy a slightly better car, b) to fund my college education at the University I transfer to after I get my associates this spring, to help with loan costs, or c) to buy groceries for myself and my family.
Anything you can do to help us, whether that’s donating or signal boosting, would be exceedingly helpful, and I am very grateful in advance for your aid!
